Doris Beissel
Doris E. Beissel, 85, of Roselle Park died Feb. 25 in Cranford
Health and Extended Care, where she had been a resident since June
2006. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Beissel was a resident of
Roselle Park for 33 years. She was an employee of GMC truck
division of General Motors for 38 years. Mrs. Beissel started with
GMC truck, now Yellow Cab Co., in New York City as a file clerk.
She advanced to become secretary to the New York district zone
manager and continued her career to become New York district zone
truck distribution manager. Mrs. Beissel was honored by becoming
the first woman to serve and succeed in this position for GMC
Truck/General Motors. Surviving are her husband, Edward G.; a son,
Edward Brown; a brother, Edward Moss, and two grandchildren. The
Mastapeter Funeral Home, Roselle Park, handled the
arrangements.
Evelyn Florio
Evelyn V. Florio, 95, of Roselle Park died March 4 at Robert Wood
Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. Born in Camden, Mrs. Florio
lived in Roselle Park for most of her life. She was an assembler
for Hexacon Electric Co. for many years and retired many years ago.
Mrs. Florio was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Roselle
Park, the Casano Community Center, Roselle Park, The Rosary Altar
Society at the Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park, and the
Ladies Auxiliary of the Faitoute Hose Co. of the Roselle Park
Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are two sons, Charles G. Jr.
and Nicholas J.; a daughter, Evelyn V. Longo; five grandchildren
and a great-grandchild. The Mastapeter Funeral Home, Roselle Park,
handled the arrangements.
Wesley Keefer
Wesley S. Keefer of Roselle Park died on March 2. A National
Service Defense Medal recipient, a military honors burial will be
held today at the Rosehill Crematory Chapel, Linden. Surviving are
his wife, Helen; a son, Wesley J.; a daughter, Lynn Keefer-Vogel;
two sisters, Ann Angelus and Elaine Keefer, and three
grandchildren.
