The Relay For Life of Roselle Park will host its first-ever Chili Cook-off on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Hillside.
This fundraising event will be a competition, allowing anyone to prepare his or her own chili recipe for taste testing. Anyone can compete by paying the fee and completing the entry form on the Relay For Life of Roselle Park Web site,
www.relayforlife.org/RoselleParkNJ.
General attendance is open to the public for a fee. The categories for chili will vary: mild meat chili, mild vegetarian chili, spicy meat chili and spicy vegetarian chili.
“We wanted to do a fun winter fundraiser, similar to the Pasta Cook-off we had over the summer,” said Linda Kolinsky, Relay For Life committee member. “We all hope we can get more people involved this way.”
The Chili Cook-off will begin at 2 p.m. Prizes will be offered to the winner of each category. Anyone is welcome to enter or attend; this fundraiser is part of the Relay For Life stride to reach their goal of $100,000 for the 2010 fundraising season.
